We are a family-run business, based in Taunton and advising clients across Somerset, the South West and further afield. Because we are independent, we recommend from the whole of the market rather than a restricted panel, and you deal with the same adviser each time.

What we do
Planning for a secure financial future starts with getting a clear picture, and that is where we come in. We work closely with trusted estate agents, solicitors, fund managers and pension providers so that the whole picture is considered, not just the part in front of us.
How the firm started
Jon Hutchins set up Heritage in Taunton in 2000, after six years with Prudential and a career in financial services going back to 1994. The firm was incorporated as Heritage Independent Financial Consultancy Ltd in 2014 and has grown steadily since, without ever being bought, merged or absorbed into a network.
That matters more than it sounds. It means the advice has been given by the same people, to many of the same families, for a long time. A good number of our clients have been with Jon since the beginning.
Independent, and directly authorised
We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in our own right, under firm reference 624976, rather than operating as an appointed representative of someone else. We recommend from across the market, so no provider has a claim on what we suggest.
How we charge
We set out our charges in writing before you commit to anything, in cash terms as well as percentages, along with what we are paid by a lender on mortgage business. The initial conversation is free and carries no obligation.
Where we work
Our office is at Bindon Road in Taunton and most of our clients are in Somerset, but we act for people across the South West and beyond. We are happy to meet at the office, at your home, or by video call.
