Firm Principal and Independent Financial Adviser

Jon Hutchins is the Principal at Heritage Independent Financial Consultancy Ltd and has been in the financial services industry since 1994. Having worked for Prudential for 6 years he set up Heritage Independent in  2000 and since then has grown the company organically. 

Jon has refreshed all his qualifications to gain the Chartered Insurance Institures Diploma in Regulated Financial Advice and is a member of the Personal Finance Society, he is also a fully qualified Mortgage and Equity Release adviser.  

As a fully qualified IFA, the last 27 years in the fast paced world of Financial Services has given Jon an unequivocal understanding of the industry and his experience and knowledge is second to none.

I graduated from Bournemouth University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Financial Services in 2000 and have gained a range of experience including firms such as Reuters, St James’s Place Wealth Management and Succession Group. I decided it was time to give truly independent financial advice to best serve the needs of my clients.

A Taunton man born and bred, I live walking distance from the town with my partner and two young sons. In my ever decreasing spare time away from work I enjoy cycling and play golf at Burnham & Berrow.

Phil Buck

Mortgage & Protection Adviser

Phil joined Heritage in 2023 and has more than 10 years’ experience in financial services having worked for a major high street bank and national building society as well as smaller local financial advice firms. In that time, he has held a range of roles both interacting with clients directly and providing behind the scenes support. He has recently qualified as a mortgage and protection advisor.

Phil prides himself on being able to build strong relationships with his clients, explaining the complexities of the mortgage and protection process in simple clear terms. He can help you whether you are buying your first home, looking to take your next step on the property ladder, remortgaging your existing property or considering downsizing to free up some equity. Phil can also help ensure you and your home are fully protected whether with buildings & contents insurance, life insurance, critical illness cover or income protection.
